Weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM in your audience's local time. That is where 7 studies from 2025 and 2026 agree most. Tuesday to Thursday are the strongest days, the weekend the weakest.

## The short answer: Post on weekdays between 9 AM and 6 PM, local time.

Seven engagement studies published between November 2025 and October 2026 name different hours, from 8 AM (SocialBee) to the evening (Buffer). The widest agreement is weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM in your audience's local time, with mid-morning and 3 to 6 PM named most. Six of the seven call the weekend the weakest time to post.

LinkedIn itself gives no clock time. Its marketing blog says "the timing is often less important than the substance" and that there is no substitute for testing. Use the map above as a start, then check it against your own post analytics.

- **Best days**: Tuesday to Thursday (Wednesday is a top day in 6 of 7 studies)
- **Best time**: 9 AM to 6 PM (Weekdays, your audience's local time)
- **Worst days**: Saturday, Sunday (The weakest in 6 of 7 studies)

## What each study found. They agree on weekdays, not on the hour.

| Study | Sample | Best times | Best days | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sprout Social, Mar 2026 | 2B engagements, 307K profiles | Tue 11 AM-5 PM, Wed 11 AM-4 PM, Thu 11 AM and 1-5 PM | Tue, Wed, Thu | Weekends |
| Buffer, Sep 2026 | 4.8M posts | Weekdays 3-8 PM; Wed 4 PM is the top slot | Wed, Thu, Fri | Weekends, 6-11 AM |
| Hootsuite, Nov 2025 | 1M+ posts (Q4 2024 data) | Tue and Wed 8-9 AM | Tue, Wed | Weekends |
| SocialPilot, 2026 | 683K posts, 47K accounts | 10 AM-12 PM and 1-4 PM, Eastern Time | Tue, Wed, Thu | Weekends |
| Social Champ, Aug 2026 | 2.6M posts | Tue 1-3 PM, Mon and Wed 2-4 PM | Tue, Wed | Weekends |
| SocialBee, Sep 2026 | 494,774 posts | 8-9 AM; Wed 8 AM is the best slot | Wed, Thu, Tue | Sunday, 5-6 AM, 12-2 PM, 6 PM |
| AuthoredUp, Oct 2026 | 3M+ posts | 8-11 AM, most at 9 AM | Pages: weekdays, Wed best | Midnight-4 AM |

Times are local except SocialPilot (Eastern Time) and Social Champ (not stated). Metricool's advice is left out because it rests on when its users post, not on engagement; Ordinal's study is left out because its hours are in UTC.

## Does a company Page need a different time? Only one study splits them.

| Account | What the studies say |
|---|---|
| Personal profile | AuthoredUp: "the time of day you post matters far more than the day of the week." The gap between the best and worst day was under 10%; the best hours were 8 to 11 AM local time. |
| Company Page | AuthoredUp: weekdays beat weekends by roughly 48% to 50%, and Wednesday ran about 1.7 times higher than Sunday for US Pages. Sprout Social's data comes mostly from brand accounts and also points to Tuesday to Thursday. |
| Both | Metricool's 2026 study of 673,658 posts found personal profiles had a 63% higher engagement rate than Pages, with similar impressions per post. |

## What changed for timing. Peaks moved later, posts surface faster.

- **Sep 2026: Engagement peaks moved later** Buffer's 4.8 million posts put the best window at 3 to 8 PM on weekdays. Its own words: "In 2025, peak engagement was almost entirely confined to working hours." (https://buffer.com/resources/best-time-to-post-on-linkedin/)
- **Mar 2026: A faster feed** LinkedIn rebuilt how its feed finds posts. New posts are indexed in near-real time, and "When industry news breaks and relevant posts start getting traction, you see them within minutes, not hours." (https://www.linkedin.com/blog/engineering/feed/engineering-the-next-generation-of-linkedins-feed)
- **Feb 2024: Good posts can surface for longer** Tim Jurka of LinkedIn: "Right now, content lives and dies on the newsfeed very quickly." LinkedIn said its best posts could be shown to targeted users for months (reported by Entrepreneur). ## Find your own best time. The map is a start, your analytics decide.

1. **Compare your own time slots** Open the analytics of your recent posts and group them by the day and hour you posted. Look at impressions and comments, not reactions alone.
2. **Plan in your audience's time zone** Most studies use local time. If most of your network is in New York, plan in Eastern Time, wherever you are.
3. **Test one slot at a time** Post the same kind of content at two times for two to three weeks. Change one thing at a time so the numbers mean something.
4. **Skip the weekend for Page posts** Six of seven studies call the weekend the weakest time. For a personal profile the day matters less, so test a Sunday if your audience reads then.
5. **Schedule the afternoon posts** The strongest band runs to 6 PM. LinkedIn itself schedules posts up to 3 months ahead, and a scheduler does the same for your profile and Page.
6. **Stay around to reply** LinkedIn refreshes a post's signals within minutes as it gains engagement. Post when you can answer the first comments.

## Sources and method

We read the 2025 and 2026 LinkedIn timing studies from Sprout Social, Buffer, Hootsuite, SocialPilot, Social Champ, SocialBee and AuthoredUp. Together they cover about 12.6 million posts plus Sprout Social's 2 billion engagements. Each study gets one vote per day and three-hour block: plus one when it names the block as a best time, minus one when it says to avoid the block or the whole day. The votes are scaled from 0 to 100, so the map shows where the studies agree, not an engagement rate. Metricool's advice (based on when its users post), Ordinal's UTC hours and surveys of marketers are left out.

## FAQ

### What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?

Weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM in your audience's local time. Seven studies from 2025 and 2026 agree on that band more than on any other. They disagree on the hour, from 8 AM (SocialBee) to 3 to 8 PM (Buffer), so test it against your own analytics.

### What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?

Tuesday to Thursday. Wednesday is a top day in 6 of 7 studies, and Buffer and SocialBee rank it first. The weekend is the weakest time in 6 of 7 studies.

### What is LinkedIn golden hour?

A name for the first hour after you post, when early comments are said to decide a post's reach. LinkedIn has not confirmed it. Its feed team says new posts are indexed in near-real time and posts that gain engagement are refreshed within minutes.

### What is the 4-1-1 rule on LinkedIn?

A content-mix rule of thumb from content marketing, not a LinkedIn rule. The version most often quoted: for every six posts, four share useful content, one reshares someone else's post, and one promotes you. No LinkedIn data backs the exact numbers.

### Is it a good time to post on LinkedIn right now?

It depends on the day. Monday 3 to 6 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday 3 to 5 PM, Thursday 9 AM to 12 PM and Friday 3 to 5 PM, all in your audience's local time. The heatmap on this page marks today's row.

### What is the worst time to post on LinkedIn?

Weekends, and overnight on any day. Six of seven studies call Saturday and Sunday the weakest days, and AuthoredUp calls midnight to 4 AM local time the dead zone. Buffer also found 6 to 11 AM weaker than the afternoon.

### Does posting time still matter on LinkedIn?

Less than what you post. LinkedIn's marketing blog says "the timing is often less important than the substance". Posting when your network is at work still gives a post its best start.

### Is the best time different for a company Page?

The day matters more for Pages. AuthoredUp found weekday Page posts beat weekend ones by roughly 50%, while personal profiles barely varied by day. For both, the time of day mattered more.

### Which time zone should I use?

Your audience's. Most studies use the audience's local time. If your network is spread out, use the time zone where most of it lives.

### How does OmniSocials suggest a time to post?

It looks at your workspace's own LinkedIn posts, weighted toward recent ones, for your profile and your Page. You see the suggestion when you schedule a post, and Analytics shows a day-by-hour heatmap. Until 15 posts are analyzed, it shows labeled industry defaults.
