Weekday late mornings into early afternoon, about 9 AM to 3 PM. That is where 5 studies from late 2025 and 2026 agree most. Wednesday 12 to 3 PM is the strongest slot, Saturday the weakest day.

## The short answer: Post on weekdays between 9 AM and 3 PM, Wednesday midday first.

Five engagement studies published between November 2025 and October 2026 name hours from 6 AM to 9 PM. The widest agreement is late morning into early afternoon, roughly 9 AM to 3 PM on weekdays, and all five name Wednesday 12 to 3 PM. Evenings after 6 PM and overnight are where the studies see engagement drop.

Threads itself gives no clock time. Its creator guide says to look back at which days your posts get more views, likes or replies, and adds that posting more on weekends may help engagement. Buffer and Postpone found weekends the weakest, so test it against your own numbers.

- **Best days**: Monday to Wednesday (Wednesday is the top day for Buffer and Postpone)
- **Best time**: 9 AM to 3 PM (Weekdays; Wednesday 12 to 3 PM leads)
- **Worst time**: After 6 PM (Saturday is the weakest day)

## Where 5 studies agree, by day and time of day

### Where 5 studies agree

Strongest slot: Wednesday, 12-3 PM. Best day: Monday. Weakest day: Saturday. Buffer and Hootsuite use local time; SocialPilot, ElvenFlow and Postpone use US Eastern. A higher score means more studies name that slot. Scores run from 0 to 100.

## What each study found. They agree on the band, not on the hour.

| Study | Sample | Best times | Best days | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer, Feb 2026 | 2.5M posts | Thu 9 AM, Wed 12 PM, Wed 9 AM; weekdays 6-11 AM | Wed, Thu, Tue | 6-11 PM, Sat, Sun |
| Hootsuite, Nov 2025 | 1M+ posts across networks | Tue 8 AM, Mon and Thu 9 AM, Wed 12 PM | Tuesday | None named |
| SocialPilot, 2026 | 50,000+ accounts | Wed 11 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM; weekdays 8 AM-4 PM (ET) | Wednesday | Saturday evening |
| ElvenFlow, 2026 | 22,799 top posts | 2 PM ET; Monday 7-9 AM | Monday, by a hair | Overnight |
| Postpone, Oct 2026 | Connected accounts, up to 100 posts each | 1-3 PM | Wed, Tue, Mon | Weekends, about 43% less |

ElvenFlow found every day within a few points of the others. Postpone scores each post against its own account's usual numbers. Social Champ's 400K-post page is left out: its tables contradict its own text and name no time zone.

## What Threads itself says. Not always what the data says.

| Topic | Threads says | The studies say |
|---|---|---|
| Clock time | No time given. Look back at which days your posts get more views, likes or replies | Weekdays 9 AM to 3 PM |
| Weekends | "Posting more frequently on the weekends may help drive higher engagement" (data from H1 2024) | Buffer and Postpone: weekends are the weakest days |
| Replies | "Replies account for almost half of the views on Threads" | Buffer: replying to comments on your posts lifts engagement about 42% |

## Find your own best time. The map is a start, your posts decide.

1. **Check your own best days** Threads' advice is to look back at which days your posts get more views, likes or replies. Your Insights show it per post.
2. **Plan in your audience's time zone** Two studies use local time and three use US Eastern. If most followers live in London, plan in UK time.
3. **Stay for the replies** Threads says replies bring almost half of all views. Post when you can answer for the next hour.
4. **Test one slot at a time** Post the same kind of content at two times for two to three weeks. Compare views and replies, not likes alone.
5. **Skip late evenings** Buffer found posts from 6 to 11 PM underperformed on every day of the week.
6. **Schedule the midday posts** The best band sits in working hours. Schedule posts ahead so a 12 PM post goes out during your meetings.

## Sources and method

We read the Threads timing studies from Buffer, Hootsuite, SocialPilot, ElvenFlow and Postpone, published November 2025 to October 2026. Each study gets one vote per day and three-hour block: plus one when it names the block as a best time, minus one when it says to avoid that block or day. The votes are scaled from 0 to 100, so the map shows where the studies agree, not an engagement rate. Buffer and Hootsuite use local time; the other three use US Eastern. Sprout Social is left out because its 2026 report has no Threads data, and Social Champ because its page contradicts itself.

## FAQ

### What is the best time to post on Threads?

Weekdays between about 9 AM and 3 PM. Five studies from late 2025 and 2026 agree on that band more than any other, and all five name Wednesday 12 to 3 PM. Buffer's single best slot is Thursday at 9 AM in local time.

### What is the best time to post on Threads today?

It depends on the day. Monday and Thursday 9 AM to 3 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 12 to 3 PM, Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM, and Sunday 12 to 3 PM. The heatmap on this page marks today's row.

### What is the best day to post on Threads?

Monday to Wednesday. Wednesday is the top day for Buffer and Postpone and the only day all five studies name at midday. ElvenFlow found the days within a few points of each other, so the hour matters more.

### What is the worst time to post on Threads?

Evenings and overnight. Buffer found 6 to 11 PM underperformed on every day, and ElvenFlow found engagement weakest overnight. Saturday is the weakest day for Buffer and Postpone.

### How frequently should I post on Threads?

Threads recommends at least two to five posts a week, because higher post frequency is linked to more views per post. Buffer and Hootsuite suggest 1 to 3 posts a day if you want to grow faster.

### How do I get more views on Threads?

Reply to others as much as you post: Threads says replies account for almost half of its views. Post often, add one relevant topic tag, and always add text to photos and videos.

### Does posting time matter on Threads?

Some. The studies agree on a midday weekday band, but ElvenFlow found the day of the week barely moves engagement. What you post and how fast you reply matter more than the exact minute.

### Which time zone should I use?

Your audience's. Buffer and Hootsuite report local time, while SocialPilot, ElvenFlow and Postpone report US Eastern. If your followers are spread out, plan for the zone where most of them live.

### Is the best time on Threads the same as on Instagram?

No. The Threads studies point to 9 AM to 3 PM on weekdays, while the Instagram studies point to 3 to 9 PM. Plan each network on its own.

### How does OmniSocials suggest a time to post?

It looks at your workspace's own Threads posts, weighted toward recent ones. You see the suggestion when you schedule, and Analytics shows a day-by-hour heatmap. Until 15 posts are analyzed, it shows labelled industry defaults.
