# Content calendar

> See your scheduled and published posts by week or month, and plan around notes and notable days.

Last updated: 2026-10-04 | Canonical: https://omnisocials.com/help-center/creating-content/calendar

The calendar shows every scheduled and published post in your workspace on its day. It's the first page you see after you sign in, and you can open it any time with **Calendar** in the sidebar.

## Switch between week and month

Use the **Week** and **Month** tabs at the top right. The calendar opens in **Month** the first time and remembers your choice after that.

In **Week**, each day is a column with its posts in time order, including their images and videos.

In **Month**, each day shows compact cards without media, so you can see the whole month at once.

On a phone, the calendar shows the month with a list of the posts on the selected day.

## Move through the calendar

- Click the arrows to go to the previous or next week or month, and **Today** to come back to the current date.
- Click the calendar icon left of the arrows to jump to a date (week view) or a month (month view).
- On a trackpad, swipe left or right with two fingers to change the week or month.

To choose the first day of the week, go to **Settings** > **Preferences** > **First day of week** and pick **Monday**, **Sunday** or **Auto-detect from system**.

## What the calendar shows

Each post card shows the post type (Post, Story or Reel), the time, the start of the caption and the channels. The label at the top shows the status:

| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Scheduled** | Waiting to publish at its time |
| **Posting** | Publishing right now |
| **Posted** | Published to every channel |
| **Warning** | Published to some channels and failed on others |
| **Failed** | Couldn't be published |
| **In Approval** | Waiting for a reviewer |
| **Paused** | Belongs to a workflow you paused |

Two icons can appear on a card. A lightning icon means a workflow created the post; hover over it to see the source and destination. A link icon means the post is part of a group with a different time per channel.

Drafts don't appear on the calendar. You find them in the sidebar, see [Find your drafts](#find-your-drafts) below.

## Open and manage a post

Click a post card:

- A scheduled post opens in the editor.
- A posted, warning or failed post opens its details page.
- A post in approval opens for review.

Hover over a card for quick actions:

- The eye icon shows a **Post Preview** per channel.
- The chart icon (**Post Details**) opens a published post's details and statistics.
- The calendar icon (**Reschedule post**) changes the date and time of a post that isn't published yet.
- The three-dot menu has **Edit post**, **Duplicate post** and **Delete post**. For stories and reels, the items say story or reel instead.

When you delete a published post, you choose whether to remove it from OmniSocials only or also delete it on the platforms. Instagram and TikTok don't let apps delete posts, so those stay live on the platform.

## Reschedule by dragging

Drag a scheduled post to another day. It keeps its time of day. While you drag, the day you hover shows **Drop to reschedule**.

Only posts with the **Scheduled** label can be dragged, and only to today or a later day.

## Create posts from the calendar

Right-click a day and choose **Schedule Post**, **Schedule Story** or **Schedule Reel**. The editor opens with that day filled in. On days in the past, only **Create Note** is available.

When you hover over a day, a hint reminds you that you can right-click.

## Add notes

Notes mark events, launches or ideas on a day. Everyone in the workspace sees them.

1. Right-click a day and choose **Create Note**.
2. Enter a **Title**.
3. If you like, add details under **Description (Optional)**, up to 500 characters. The **Date** is already set to the day you clicked.
4. Click **Create Note**.

Notes appear as yellow labels on their day. Click a note to read it, then click the pencil icon to edit it or the trash icon to delete it. Only the person who created a note can change or delete it. Changes to notes and posts show up for your teammates without a page refresh.

## Show notable days

The calendar can show holidays and other notable days, such as Black Friday or Earth Day.

1. Go to **Settings** > **Preferences** > **Notable days**.
2. Turn **Show notable days** on or off.
3. Choose the categories: **National Holidays**, **Shopping & Commerce**, **Awareness Days** and **Fun & Quirky Days**.

Notable days are on by default, with **National Holidays** and **Shopping & Commerce** selected.

## Find your drafts

Drafts live in the sidebar, not on the calendar. At the top of the sidebar, click the bookmark icon next to **Home** to switch to **Drafts**.

![The Drafts view in the sidebar with a list of drafts](https://cdn.omnisocials.com/file/omnisocials-website-assets/help-center/creating-content/calendar/drafts.webp)

Each draft shows its type, the start of its caption and its channels. Click a draft to open it in the editor. Hover over a draft and click the three-dot menu to **Duplicate**, **Share** or **Delete** it. In this view, the button at the top of the sidebar reads **Create Draft**.

Drafts can't be dragged onto the calendar. To schedule a draft, open it and click **Schedule Post**.
