> Upload, organize and reuse your images, videos and PDFs.

The Library holds the images, videos and PDFs of your workspace. Files you upload once can be used in any post, and everything you add in the post editor is saved here too. Open it with **Library** in the sidebar.

## Upload media

1. Click **Library** in the sidebar.
2. Click **Upload**.
3. Drop your files into the box, or click **Choose files**.

Files start uploading as soon as you add them. Each file gets its own row with its progress, and a file that can't be uploaded says why on its row. The files go to the folder named at the top, after **to**. Click it to pick another folder, or **All media** for no folder.

![The Upload media window in OmniSocials: the files go to All media, a box to drop images, videos or PDFs or to choose files, and one row per file with its progress: one added, one at 64 percent and one waiting](https://cdn.omnisocials.com/file/omnisocials-website-assets/help-center/creating-content/library/upload.webp)

You can close the window while files are still uploading. The uploads go on and show as tiles in the Library until they're done.

You can also drag files from your computer anywhere onto the Library page. They go into the folder you have open, or into a folder tile if you drop them on one.

| File type | Formats | Maximum size |
|---|---|---|
| Images | JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP. HEIC photos are converted to JPEG. | 100 MB |
| Videos | MP4, MOV, WebM. MOV and WebM videos are converted to MP4. | 1 GB for MP4 and MOV, 100 MB for WebM |
| Documents | PDF | 100 MB |

SVG files aren't supported. Each platform also has its own limits, which can be lower. The platform articles list them, for example [Instagram](/help-center/integrations/instagram).

A video that one of your connected channels won't take, because it's too large or too long, shows that channel's name on its tile. Hover over it to see why.

### PDFs

A PDF stays one item in your Library, with its page count on the tile. When you add it to a post, its pages become the slides of a carousel. LinkedIn receives the original PDF as a document. To use single pages as normal images, click **⋯** on the PDF and choose **Split into slides**. The PDF stays in your Library.

## Find files

- The tabs at the top show **All**, **Images**, **Videos** and **PDFs**, each with the number of files.
- Click the search icon to search your files by name.
- **Added** shows only the files you added **Today**, in the **Last 7 days**, the **Last 30 days** or **This year**.
- The sort menu orders files by **Newest first**, **Oldest first** or **Largest first**.
- The grid and list icons switch between the grid and a list with each file's name, folder, size and date.

In the grid, files are grouped by the day you added them and keep their own shape, so a vertical video is narrow and a landscape image is wide. More files load as you scroll down.

## Organize with folders

The folders of the level you're on show as tiles at the top of the grid, with their newest files and the number of files in them. Click a folder to open it. The title at the top shows where you are, for example **Library > Feature launches**. Click **Library** in the title to go back to the top level.

- To create a folder, click **New folder**, enter a name and click **Create folder**. The folder is made inside the folder you have open.
- To rename or delete a folder, hover over its tile and click **⋯**, then choose **Rename** or **Delete folder**. Inside a folder, the same menu is next to its name in the title.
- To move files into a folder, drag them onto its tile. You can also choose **Move files here** in the folder's menu, select the files and click **Move to** with the folder's name.

When you delete a folder, your files are kept. Files inside it move to **All media**, and folders inside it move up one level.

## View a file

Click a file to open it full screen. Use the arrows, or the left and right arrow keys, to go to the previous or next file.

At the top you can:

- Click **Use in a post** to start a new post with the file.
- Download the file.
- Click the info icon to see its details: the name, the type and size, the dimensions or pages, the length of a video, when it was added, its folder and the posts it's used in. Type a name to rename the file, and pick a folder to move it.
- Click **⋯** for **Copy link**, **Move to**, **Split into slides** for a PDF, and **Delete**.

## Select several files

1. Hover over a file and click the circle in its top-left corner.
2. Click the other files you want. Once one file is selected, a click on any file selects it.
3. Use the bar at the bottom of the page:
   - **Use in a post** starts a new post with the selected files.
   - **Move to** puts them in a folder, or in a new folder.
   - **Download** saves the file, when one file is selected.
   - **Delete** removes them.

![The Library in OmniSocials with 3 files selected: the selected files show a blue check, every other file its select circle, and a dark bar at the bottom offers Use in a post, Move to and Delete](https://cdn.omnisocials.com/file/omnisocials-website-assets/help-center/creating-content/library/select.webp)

Click the **X** on the bar to clear the selection.

Each file also has its own **⋯** menu when you hover over it, with **Use in a post**, **Download**, **Copy link**, **Move to** and **Delete**.

### Delete files

When you delete files, OmniSocials first tells you whether they're used in posts. Scheduled posts that use a deleted file lose it. Published posts stay as they are. Deleting can't be undone.

## Use media in a post

1. In the post editor, click the image button (**Add image or video**).
2. The **Add media** window opens. It's the same Library, with the tabs, search, sort, your folders and **Upload**.
3. Click the files you want. They appear in the **In this post** column on the right, in the order they will be posted. Drag a file to change the order, or click its **X** to take it out.
4. Click **Add to post**. The button shows how many files you add, for example **Add 2 to post**.

The **In this post** column also shows what each of your channels takes, such as the maximum number of images, and stops you when the files don't fit. For a story, the column is called **In this story**.

When you pick a single file, such as the video of a reel or a cover image, a click on the file adds it right away. See [Create a post](/help-center/creating-content/create-post).

## Unused and archived files

To keep storage in check, OmniSocials removes files that haven't been used in a post for 90 days. You get a warning first.

- A notice at the top of the Library tells you how many unused files will be removed and when. Click **Review** to see only those files, or **Keep all** to keep every one of them.
- Each of those files shows **Removed in** and the days left. Hover over it and click **Keep** to keep it.
- Using a file in a post also keeps it.

The **Library** item in the sidebar shows how many files are marked for removal.

Videos in posts that were published more than 90 days ago are archived to save space. They stay live on the platforms and show **Archived** in your Library. To post an archived video again, upload it again.
