A workspace holds the social channels, posts and analytics of one brand or client. This article explains how workspaces relate to your organization, how to create your first workspace during onboarding, and how to switch between workspaces.

## Organizations and workspaces

OmniSocials has two levels:

- Your **organization** is your business or agency. It holds your team members, clients, roles, approval workflows and billing.
- A **workspace** sits inside an organization and covers one brand or client. Each workspace has its own connected channels, calendar, posts, drafts, social inbox and analytics.

Most people start with one workspace. Agencies usually create one workspace for each client. You can also belong to several organizations, for example your own and a client's.

## Create your first workspace

Step 2 of onboarding, **Set up your organisation**, names your organization and creates your first workspace. The fields depend on what you chose under **You are a...** in step 1:

- **Solo business or creator**: you enter your business name and logo. Your workspace uses the same name and logo. Click **Change** if you want to name it differently.
- **Company with a team**: you enter your company name and logo, then a **Workspace name** and **Workspace logo**.
- **Agency with client accounts**: you enter your agency name and logo, then the name and logo of **Your first client workspace**.

To complete the step:

1. Optionally, upload a logo for your organization. Use a JPG or PNG file of up to 2MB.
2. Enter your organization's name.
3. Enter the workspace name and, optionally, upload a workspace logo.
4. Click **Save & Continue**.

The line under the form shows how your organization and workspace relate, so you can check the names before you continue.

> **Note:** If someone already invited you to their organization, a banner at the top of this step says so. Click **View invite** to join their organization instead of creating your own. If you were invited as a client, this step shows your client invitation instead.

## Switch between workspaces

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar.
2. On the right of the menu, click the workspace you want to open.

The page reloads with that workspace's channels, posts and data. The left of the menu shows the workspace you're in, with its channels, a button that opens its **Channels** window and **Settings**. On the right, each workspace shows its channel icons, and a checkmark marks the workspace you're in. If you belong to more than one organization, the top line of the list has a picture for each organization. Click one to show its workspaces.

## Create another workspace

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar.
2. Click **New workspace** under the list. If you belong to more than one organization, it reads **New workspace here** and creates the workspace in the organization shown.
3. Under **Create workspace for:**, choose the organization.
4. Optionally, upload a **Brand Icon**.
5. Enter a **Workspace Name**.
6. Click **Create Workspace**.

OmniSocials switches you to the new workspace. It starts without connected channels. To create a workspace, you need the **Create workspaces** permission in that organization.

> **Note:** Each workspace is a paid seat in your plan. If all your workspace seats are in use, OmniSocials asks you to raise your workspace limit first. To learn more, see [Manage workspaces](/help-center/organization/workspace-management).
