OmniSocials publishes to Facebook Pages. Facebook doesn't let apps post to personal profiles, so you connect a Page that you manage.

## What you can publish

| Format | Details |
|---|---|
| Post | Text, a link with a preview card, images, or one video |
| Story | Up to 10 slides, each one image or one video |
| Reel | One video |

Facebook messages, comments and mentions can also come into your [Social Inbox](/help-center/engagement/social-inbox). When your Page is linked to an Instagram account, you also receive Instagram post mentions there.

## Requirements

- A Facebook Page where you have admin permissions.
- The Facebook account you sign in with must manage that Page.
- The **Manage social channels** permission in your OmniSocials workspace.

Each workspace connects one Facebook Page. To manage several Pages, use a workspace for each.

## Connect Facebook

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, then click the channels button under the workspace. The **Channels** window opens.
2. Under **Add a channel**, click **Facebook**.
3. In **Connect Facebook**, pick how you sign in. **Sign in with Instagram**, marked **Recommended**, is for a Page linked to an Instagram Business or Creator account. **Sign in with Facebook** is for a Facebook Page you manage as an admin. Both ways connect a Facebook Page. Click **Continue with Instagram** or **Continue with Facebook** to open Facebook's login window.

4. Sign in to Facebook, select the Pages to give OmniSocials access to and keep every permission turned on.
5. If you gave access to more than one Page, choose the Page for this workspace in **Choose a Facebook Page** and click **Connect** with the Page's name.

With only one Page, OmniSocials connects it right away. When the Page is linked to an Instagram account, the Facebook row in the Channels window shows **Instagram mentions on**.

> **Note:** Facebook replaces the Page access every time you sign in. If several workspaces use Pages from the same Facebook account, keep all of those Pages selected in Facebook's window when you connect or reconnect. A Page you leave out loses its connection in the other workspace.

## Facebook options in the editor

Click the Facebook icon in the channel bar to see and edit the Facebook version of your post. Type @ in the Facebook editor to tag a Page.

- **First comment**: click its chip in the options bar under the editor. It's posted right after the post or reel goes live. Stories don't get a first comment.
- **Comment to DM**: on posts and reels. People who comment a keyword under the post get your message in Messenger, once the post is live. Set the **Keywords**, **The DM**, an optional **Reply under the comment** and a limit under **Stop after**. When the post also goes to Instagram, it is one setup with a switch per channel. One DM per person, within 7 days of the comment. See [Comment to DM](/help-center/creating-content/workflows#comment-to-dm-for-instagram-and-facebook).
- **Links**: put a link in the caption of a post without images or video, and Facebook shows a preview card. When the card appears, OmniSocials removes the link text from the caption after publishing, so the post looks like one made on Facebook. With images or video attached, the link stays in the caption as plain text.

## Limits

| | Limit |
|---|---|
| Caption | 63,206 characters |
| First comment | 8,000 characters |
| Media in a post | Images, or one video. Not both in the same post. |
| Image files | JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 10 MB |
| Video files | Up to 1 GB |
| Video length | Up to 240 minutes for posts and reels, 60 seconds per story slide |
| Stories | Up to 10 slides |

A post needs a caption.

## Troubleshooting

**Facebook is missing required permissions.** Reconnect Facebook and keep every permission box checked in Facebook's window.

**Your Page isn't in the list.** Check that you're signed in to Facebook with the account that manages the Page, and that you have admin permissions on it. Personal profiles can't be connected.

**The Page is already connected to another workspace.** The Facebook account you used only has access to a Page that another workspace already uses. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages the Page you want, or disconnect the Page from the other workspace first.

**Another workspace lost its Page after you reconnected.** Reconnect Facebook in that workspace and select all your Pages in Facebook's window.

**The channel shows under Needs attention with Expired and a date.** Click **Reconnect** and sign in to Facebook again.

**The link to a new reel doesn't work yet.** Facebook needs a few minutes to process a long reel before its link works.
