# Pinterest

> Connect your Pinterest account to publish image, carousel and video Pins to your boards.

OmniSocials publishes Pins to the board you choose for each post. This article covers what you can publish, how to connect your account and the Pinterest settings in the post editor.

## What you can publish

| Format | Details |

| Image Pin | One image |
| Carousel Pin | 2 to 5 images with the same aspect ratio |
| Video Pin | One video. A video in a post with images publishes as its own Pin. |

Every Pin needs a board, a description and at least one image or video.

## Requirements

- A Pinterest account.
- The **Manage social channels** permission in your OmniSocials workspace.

Each workspace connects one Pinterest account.

## Connect Pinterest

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, then click the channels button under the workspace. The **Channels** window opens.
2. Under **Add a channel**, click **Pinterest**.
3. Sign in to Pinterest and allow OmniSocials access.

## Pinterest options in the editor

Click the Pinterest icon in the channel bar to see the Pin as it will look. You can choose the board and type the title and description right in the preview.

Pinterest's settings are post options. The bar under the editor has the chips **Choose a board** (it shows the board once you pick one) and **Link**, and Pinterest's page in the options panel has all of them. See [Set post options](/help-center/creating-content/create-post#set-post-options).

- **Board**: required. Until you pick one, the board chip is red and Pinterest moves to the front of the bar. Pick a board under **Your boards**. To make a new one, click **New board**, enter a **Board Name** of at least 3 characters in **Create New Pinterest Board** and click **Create Board**.
- **Title**: optional, up to 100 characters.
- **Link**: the page people open when they click the Pin.
- **Alt text**: describes the image for people who use screen readers. Optional, up to 500 characters.

For a video Pin, click **Add Cover** on the video to choose its cover.

## Troubleshooting

**You can't schedule the post.** Choose a board in the Pinterest options. A Pin also needs a description and at least one image or video.

**Your new board isn't in the list.** Open the board list again. OmniSocials reloads your boards every time you open it.

**The carousel is rejected.** All images in a carousel Pin need the same aspect ratio. Crop them to match, or remove the ones that differ.

**The channel shows under Needs attention with Expired and a date.** Click **Reconnect** and sign in to Pinterest again.

> **Note:** When you disconnect Pinterest, your Pinterest post history and analytics are deleted within 30 days. Reconnect before then to keep them.
