# Threads

> Connect your Threads profile to publish posts, carousels and multi-post threads.

OmniSocials publishes to Threads through Meta's official Threads API. You can publish single posts, carousels and threads of several posts.

## What you can publish

| Format | Details |

| Post | Text, one image, one video or a carousel of up to 20 images and videos |
| Thread | Several posts that reply to each other, each with its own text and media |

## Requirements

- A Threads profile.
- The **Manage social channels** permission in your OmniSocials workspace.

Each workspace connects one Threads profile.

## Connect Threads

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, then click the channels button under the workspace. The **Channels** window opens.
2. Under **Add a channel**, click **Threads**.
3. Sign in to Threads and allow OmniSocials access.

## Threads options in the editor

Click the Threads icon in the channel bar to see and edit the Threads version of your post.

To publish a thread, click **Add post below** in the toolbar and write each post. When your text is longer than 500 characters, click **Split into thread** to split it into several posts. Each post in a thread can have up to 20 images and videos.

Threads has no post options, so it has no chips in the options bar under the editor.

A post needs text.

## Troubleshooting

**A thread fails with a message about the reply permission.** Threads connections made before OmniSocials supported threads don't have that permission yet. Reconnect Threads once with **Reconnect** in the **...** menu of its row in the Channels window, then retry the post.

**The channel shows under Needs attention with Expired and a date.** Click **Reconnect** and sign in to Threads again.

**A post is over the limit.** Shorten the text, or click **Split into thread** in the Threads version.
