2 to 5 posts a week is LinkedIn's own advice for creators. In a study of over 2 million posts, every step up in frequency brought more impressions per post, and posting often did not cost reach.

## The short answer: 2 to 5 posts a week, and at least one a week from a Page.

LinkedIn's guide for creators says to "aim to publish between 2-5 posts per week". Buffer's study of over 2 million posts from 94,000+ accounts points the same way: impressions and engagement per post rose with every step up, from 2 to 5 posts a week to 11 or more.

For company Pages, LinkedIn's own numbers favor at least one post a week: Pages that post weekly have five times more followers and grow seven times faster than Pages that post monthly. LinkedIn publishes no daily cap, but its Help Center says it may limit posting that looks excessive or inauthentic.

- **Posts a week**: 2 to 5 (LinkedIn's advice for creators)
- **Company Pages**: Weekly at least (5x the followers of monthly posters)
- **Daily cap**: None published (Excessive posting can be limited)

## Plan a week at your pace

- **Minimum**: 1 posts a week (Wed 10:00 AM post). 1 post a week. LinkedIn: Pages that post weekly grow seven times faster than monthly ones.
- **Sweet spot**: 3 posts a week (Tue 10:00 AM document, Wed 4:00 PM post, Thu 9:00 AM video). 2 to 5 posts a week, LinkedIn's advice for creators and Buffer's starting range.
- **Growth**: 6 posts a week (Mon 3:00 PM text, Tue 10:00 AM document, Tue 4:00 PM post, Wed 11:00 AM video, Thu 9:00 AM document, Fri 3:00 PM post). 6 to 10 posts a week: about 5,000 more impressions per post than at 1 a week (Buffer).
- **All in**: 11 posts a week (Mon 10:00 AM post, Mon 3:00 PM text, Tue 9:00 AM document, Tue 4:00 PM video, Wed 10:00 AM post, Wed 4:00 PM document, Thu 9:00 AM video, Thu 2:00 PM text, Thu 5:00 PM post, Fri 10:00 AM document, Fri 3:00 PM post). 11 or more posts a week grew impressions per post most in Buffer's data, if quality holds.

## How often to post from a profile and from a Page. In LinkedIn's own words.

| Account | How often | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Personal profile | 2 to 5 posts a week | LinkedIn for Creators: "Aim to publish between 2-5 posts per week" |
| Company Page | At least weekly | LinkedIn: weekly Pages have 5x the followers and grow 7x faster than monthly ones |
| Company Page | Weekly or more | LinkedIn Pages best practices: "Companies that post weekly see a 2x lift in engagement" |
| Notify employees of a Page post | Up to once a week | LinkedIn Pages best practices |
| Per day | No number published | LinkedIn may limit posting that looks excessive or inauthentic |

LinkedIn's Help Center, read on October 17, 2026: limits "may vary depending on behavioral and authenticity signals", and verifying a profile or Page can help.

## More posts, more reach per post. Buffer's 2 million posts, against posting once a week.

| Posts a week | Impressions per post | Engagement rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Baseline | Baseline |
| 2 to 5 | +1,182 | +0.23 points |
| 6 to 10 | +5,001 | +0.76 points |
| 11 or more | +16,946 | +1.40 points |

Buffer compared each account with its own baseline: "LinkedIn doesn't 'cap' your reach or punish you for posting often." The gains shrink as you post more. Willow's 2026 study of 488 B2B Pages points the same way: Pages that posted most weeks got about twice the impressions per post of Pages that posted only some weeks.

## Which formats to mix in. Documents lead, links trail.

| Format | Engagement rate (2025) |
|---|---|
| Document (PDF carousel) | 7.00% |
| Multiple images | 6.45% |
| Video | 6.00% |
| Image | 5.30% |
| Text only | 4.50% |
| Poll | 4.20% |
| Link | 3.25% |

Socialinsider, 1.3 million posts from 16,645 company Pages, January 2024 to December 2025, engagement by impressions. A mix to aim for, not a quota per format.

## What changed for posting frequency. People beat Pages, more is fine.

- **Apr 2026: Profiles out-engage Pages** Metricool's study of 673,658 posts found personal profiles had a 63% higher engagement rate than company Pages, with similar impressions per post. (https://metricool.com/press-release-linkedin-study-2026/)
- **Mar 2026: A rebuilt feed** LinkedIn moved its feed retrieval to LLM-based models that index new posts in near-real time. Each post is matched to readers on what it says. (https://www.linkedin.com/blog/engineering/feed/engineering-the-next-generation-of-linkedins-feed)
- **Aug 2025: No penalty for posting often** Buffer's 2 million posts showed reach per post rising up to 11 or more posts a week: "Posting more always helps, but the marginal payoff decreases as you climb higher." (https://buffer.com/resources/how-often-to-post-on-linkedin/)

## Post more without burning out. Consistency is the goal.

1. **Start at 2 a week** Buffer's advice is to start in the 2 to 5 range and make it a habit. Add a post when the pace feels easy.
2. **Post weekly from your Page** LinkedIn's own data favors weekly Page posts over monthly ones. A slow week still needs one post.
3. **Mix in a document a week** Document posts had the highest engagement rate in Socialinsider's data. Turn a list or a how-to into a few slides.
4. **Spread posts across the week** LinkedIn publishes no minimum gap. Giving each post its own day keeps them from competing for the same readers.
5. **Batch the week, then schedule it** Plan and schedule a week in one sitting. LinkedIn schedules up to 3 months ahead, and so does a scheduler.
6. **Post as people, not only the Page** Personal profiles had a 63% higher engagement rate than Pages in Metricool's 2026 study. Share Page news from your own profile too.

## Sources and method

The frequency numbers come from LinkedIn's own guidance for creators and Pages, read on October 17, 2026, and from Buffer's study of over 2 million posts from 94,000+ accounts, which compares each account with its own baseline. Willow's 2026 study of B2B Pages, Socialinsider's 2026 format benchmarks and Metricool's 2026 LinkedIn study add the rest. Where LinkedIn gives no number (posts per day, the gap between posts), the page says so instead of guessing.

## FAQ

### How often should you post on LinkedIn?

2 to 5 times a week. That is LinkedIn's own advice for creators and Buffer's suggested starting range. In Buffer's study, accounts got more impressions per post at every step up, to 11 or more a week, so post more if the quality holds.

### How often should a company post on LinkedIn?

At least once a week. LinkedIn says Pages that post weekly have five times more followers and grow seven times faster than Pages that post monthly. 2 to 5 posts a week is a good target once weekly is easy.

### Should I post on LinkedIn every day?

You can if the quality holds. Buffer found no reach penalty up to 11 or more posts a week. LinkedIn's own advice for creators is 2 to 5 posts a week, which is easier to keep up.

### How many times a day can you post on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn publishes no number. Its Help Center says it may limit how many posts a member or Page makes when the activity looks excessive or inauthentic. LinkedIn's own advice for creators stays at 2 to 5 posts a week.

### Will posting too often hurt my reach on LinkedIn?

Not in Buffer's data. It found "LinkedIn doesn't 'cap' your reach or punish you for posting often", though the gain from each extra post gets smaller. Bursts of posts and long gaps did worse in Willow's study than a steady weekly rhythm.

### How long should you wait between LinkedIn posts?

LinkedIn sets no minimum gap. Spreading posts across the week gives each one its own day, which is the simplest way to keep them from competing.

### Is posting once a week on LinkedIn enough?

It is the minimum. Weekly Pages do much better than monthly ones in LinkedIn's data, and in Buffer's data 2 to 5 posts a week beat 1 by about 1,200 impressions per post.

### Do personal profiles or company Pages get more engagement?

Profiles. Metricool's 2026 study found personal profiles had a 63% higher engagement rate than company Pages, with similar impressions per post. Pages got shared more, profiles got more comments.

### What is the 4-1-1 rule on LinkedIn?

A content-mix rule of thumb from content marketing, not a LinkedIn rule. The version most often quoted: for every six posts, four share useful content, one reshares someone else's post, and one promotes you. No LinkedIn data backs the exact numbers.

### Can OmniSocials show how often I post?

Yes. Analytics has a posting streak card that counts your posts per week, and the calendar shows the week ahead for your LinkedIn profile and Page, drafts included, so gaps are easy to spot.
