At least 2 to 5 posts a week, Threads says, because more posts are linked to more views per post. Buffer and Hootsuite go further for growth: 1 to 3 posts a day. Replies count too.

## The short answer: At least 2 to 5 posts a week. Daily or more if you want to grow.

Threads' own creator guide says "Higher post frequency is linked to higher views per post, so we recommend posting at least two to five times per week." That comes from Threads' internal analysis of creators in the first half of 2024.

Scheduling tools aim higher for growth. Buffer suggests at least one post a day and 2 to 3 for steady growth, and Hootsuite's team says 2 to 3 a day; both base this on their own accounts, not a study. Replies matter as much: Threads says they bring almost half of all views.

- **Threads' advice**: 2 to 5 a week ("At least", per Threads for Creators)
- **To grow**: 1 to 3 a day (Buffer and Hootsuite)
- **Replies**: Half of views (Threads: "almost half")

## Plan a week at your pace

- **Minimum**: 3 posts a week (Mon 10:00 AM text, Wed 1:00 PM photo, Fri 12:00 PM text). 3 posts a week sits inside Threads' own advice: at least 2 to 5.
- **Sweet spot**: 7 posts a week (Mon 10:00 AM text, Tue 1:00 PM photo, Wed 12:00 PM text, Thu 9:00 AM carousel, Fri 1:00 PM text, Sat 10:00 AM photo, Sun 1:00 PM text). About one a day: Buffer's floor, and above Threads' 2 to 5 a week.
- **Growth**: 14 posts a week (Mon 9:00 AM text, Mon 1:00 PM photo, Tue 10:00 AM text, Tue 1:00 PM carousel, Wed 9:00 AM text, Wed 12:00 PM photo, Thu 9:00 AM text, Thu 2:00 PM photo, Fri 10:00 AM text, Fri 1:00 PM carousel, Sat 9:00 AM photo, Sat 12:00 PM text, Sun 11:00 AM text, Sun 1:00 PM photo). 2 a day: the low end of what Buffer and Hootsuite suggest for steady growth.
- **All in**: 21 posts a week (Mon 8:00 AM text, Mon 11:00 AM photo, Mon 2:00 PM text, Tue 8:00 AM text, Tue 12:00 PM carousel, Tue 3:00 PM text, Wed 9:00 AM text, Wed 12:00 PM photo, Wed 2:00 PM text, Thu 9:00 AM carousel, Thu 12:00 PM text, Thu 2:00 PM photo, Fri 9:00 AM text, Fri 12:00 PM photo, Fri 2:00 PM text, Sat 8:00 AM photo, Sat 11:00 AM text, Sat 1:00 PM text, Sun 9:00 AM text, Sun 12:00 PM photo, Sun 2:00 PM text). 3 a day. In BlackTwist's August 2026 data, 10+ posts a week had the highest average growth.

## How often each source says to post. One number from Threads, the rest from tools.

| Source | How often | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Threads for Creators | At least 2 to 5 posts a week | Threads' internal analysis, 30 days in H1 2024 |
| Buffer, Feb 2026 | At least 1 a day; 2 to 3 for steady growth; 3+ for faster growth | The Buffer team's own accounts; replies count toward the total |
| Hootsuite, Apr 2025 | 2 to 3 a day | A rule of thumb from its social team |
| BlackTwist, Aug 2026 | 10+ a week had the highest average growth | 541 creators, BlackTwist users only |
| Threads API | Up to 250 posts and 1,000 replies a day | The cap for posts sent through the API, as schedulers do |

## More posts, more growth, mostly. BlackTwist creators, August 2026.

| Posts a week | Creators | Average growth | Median growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | 41 | 2.4% | 0.1% |
| 3 to 4 | 16 | 2.8% | 1.9% |
| 5 to 6 | 11 | 11.1% | 6.4% |
| 7 to 10 | 24 | 9.4% | 3.2% |
| 10 or more | 175 | 17.1% | 5.7% |

BlackTwist, August 1 to 31, 2026: one tool's users, not a random sample, and some buckets are small. Growth rises with volume, but 5 to 6 a week had the best median. Correlation, not proof.

## What changed for posting on Threads. Longer posts, easier scheduling.

- **Sep 2025: Text attachments up to 10,000 characters** A post can now carry a long read of up to 10,000 characters, so one post can replace a chain of replies. (https://about.fb.com/news/2025/09/attach-text-threads-posts-share-longer-perspectives/)
- **Jun 2024: The Threads API opened to all developers** Scheduling tools can publish to Threads, so a week of posts can be planned in one sitting and sent at set times. (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/threads/changelog)

## Post more without burning out. Consistency and replies.

1. **Start at Threads' floor** Two to five posts a week is what Threads itself recommends. Add more once that feels easy.
2. **Reply as much as you post** Threads says replies account for almost half of its views. Buffer counts your replies toward your daily total.
3. **Always add text to media** Threads found photo, video and carousel posts with text performed significantly better than posts without.
4. **Try long-form posts** In BlackTwist's August 2026 data, long-form threads averaged 13,486 views against 776 for short posts.
5. **Batch the week, then schedule it** Write a week of posts in one sitting and schedule them in the midday windows where the studies agree.
6. **Raise the pace slowly** Go from a few a week to one a day, then two. Keep the pace you can hold for months.

## Sources and method

The baseline comes from Threads' own creator guide, which bases it on an internal analysis of creators over 30 days in the first half of 2024. Buffer's and Hootsuite's daily numbers come from their teams' experience, and the page labels them that way. BlackTwist's August 2026 report adds measured follower growth by posting pace, from one tool's users. No source gives separate numbers for photos, carousels or text posts, so the page gives none.

## FAQ

### How frequently should I post on Threads?

At least two to five times a week, which is what Threads itself recommends. If you want to grow faster, Buffer and Hootsuite suggest 1 to 3 posts a day.

### How do I get more views on Threads?

Post more often, since Threads links higher post frequency to more views per post. Reply to others, because replies bring almost half of all views. Add one relevant topic tag and always add text to photos and videos.

### How many times a day should you post on Threads?

Threads gives no daily number. Buffer suggests at least one and 2 to 3 for steady growth, and Hootsuite says 2 to 3. In BlackTwist's August 2026 data, creators posting 10 or more times a week had the highest average growth.

### Is it bad to post on Threads several times a day?

No study shows a penalty. Threads links more posts to more views per post, and the API allows up to 250 posts a day. Keep the quality up and the pace sustainable.

### Do replies count as posts on Threads?

They count toward your activity: Buffer includes your replies in its daily totals, and Threads says replies account for almost half of its views. Through the API, replies have their own limit of 1,000 a day.

### How many posts can you make on Threads in a day?

Through the API, as schedulers post, up to 250 posts and 1,000 replies in 24 hours, with a carousel counting as one post. Threads publishes no limit for the app.

### Should I post on Threads on weekends?

Test it. Threads says posting more on weekends may help engagement, based on 2024 data, but Buffer and Postpone found weekends the weakest days in 2026.

### How often should a business post on Threads?

The same baseline applies: at least two to five posts a week. Daily posts and regular replies give a business account more chances to be seen.

### Can OmniSocials show how often I post?

Yes. Analytics has a posting streak card that counts your posts per week, and the calendar shows the week ahead, drafts included, so gaps are easy to spot.
