1. **Connect Instagram in OmniSocials.** Sign in with Instagram once. Business or Creator accounts.
2. **Add the server to your agent.** Paste one URL as a custom connector, or run one command.

### Publishing

### Comments and DMs

## FAQ

### What is the Instagram MCP server?

It is the OmniSocials MCP server with your Instagram account connected. Your AI agent calls its tools to post, answer comments and DMs, and read insights, through Instagram's official API. The same tools also post to 11 more platforms.

### Does it work with a personal Instagram account?

No. Meta's API only allows Business and Creator accounts. Switching a personal account to a professional one is free in the Instagram app, and you connect it with Instagram's own sign-in.

### Can my agent post Reels, Stories and carousels?

Yes. create_post takes feed posts, carousels of up to 10 items, Stories and Reels. For Reels the agent can add licensed music (search_instagram_audio), a cover, collaborators and a first comment, and choose whether the Reel also shows on your grid.

### Can it send a DM when someone comments a keyword?

Yes. create_automation sets up comment-to-DM: when someone comments a keyword, sends a DM with it or replies to a Story with it, OmniSocials sends your message by DM, and can post a public reply under the comment too.

Instagram allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days of the comment. OmniSocials sends at most 180 automated DMs an hour per account.

### How do I connect Claude to Instagram?

Connect Instagram in OmniSocials first. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, click Add, choose Add custom connector and paste https://mcp.omnisocials.com. Claude sends you to OmniSocials to sign in and pick a workspace.

### Which AI agents work with it?

Any MCP client. The site has setup guides for 21 of them, including Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Grok and Manus.

### Can it read other people's Instagram accounts?

No. It works with the account you connected: your posts, your comments and DMs, your insights. It does not scrape other profiles, followers or posts.

### Can an agent use it without me signing in each time?

Yes. Agents that run on their own, such as OpenClaw or a scheduled script, connect with an API key in the Authorization header instead of the browser sign-in. You create the key in Settings, API Keys.

### Is it safe to let an agent answer DMs?

You decide how much it does. Ask it to show every reply before it sends, or to skip certain topics. Posts can also go through an approval workflow, so a teammate or client signs off before anything goes live.

### How much does OmniSocials cost?
