## FAQ

### Can you schedule Instagram posts?

Yes. Instagram's own app and Meta Business Suite can schedule posts for a professional account. OmniSocials schedules feed posts, carousels, Reels and Stories on one calendar with your other channels, adds a first comment, and answers comments and DMs in one inbox.

### Which Instagram accounts can I connect?

Instagram professional accounts: Business or Creator. You connect with Instagram's own sign-in, and publishing does not need a Facebook Page. Personal accounts can't post through Meta's API, so they can't be connected.

Link a Facebook Page to the account to add Reel music and to see mentions in the inbox.

### What can I post to Instagram with OmniSocials?

Feed posts with one photo or video, carousels of up to 10 photos and videos, Stories of up to 10 slides and Reels of up to 15 minutes. Captions take up to 2,200 characters and 5 hashtags, and OmniSocials checks both before you schedule. Stories go out without a caption, because Instagram's API publishes the media only.

### Will Instagram crop my photo?

Instagram shows feed photos between 4:5 and 1.91:1, and Meta can only boost a post in that window. So a taller or wider photo is cropped to fit, around its subject. You can move the crop or keep the original, and your other channels always get the original.

### Does OmniSocials publish to Instagram automatically?

Yes. Every Instagram post goes out on its own at the time you pick, with no reminder or phone notification to act on. OmniSocials keeps the queue and publishes through Instagram's official API.

If a post fails, OmniSocials retries it up to 3 times, 15 minutes apart. You can also retry it yourself, and only the failed platforms publish again.

### Can I set a Reel cover, add music or post a trial Reel?

Yes. Pick a frame or upload a cover image, add licensed music from Instagram's library, choose whether the Reel also shows on your grid, and post it as a trial Reel that non-followers see first.

Licensed music needs a connected Facebook Page that is linked to your Instagram account. Instagram only offers trial Reels to accounts it allows, usually from about 1,000 followers.

### Can I tag people, add collaborators or a location?

Yes. Tag public accounts on photos, invite up to 3 collaborators on posts, carousels and Reels, and add a location to feed posts. You can also add a first comment and mark AI-generated content with Instagram's label.

### Can I answer Instagram DMs and comments?

Yes. DMs, comments and mentions land in the social inbox. You reply to DMs within Instagram's 24-hour window, reply to comments, and hide or delete them.

Comment-to-DM automations send a DM on their own when someone comments a keyword, sends it by DM or replies to a Story with it. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days.

An automation watches one post, your next post or every post, also posts made outside OmniSocials. Keywords match whole words, whatever the capitals, public replies take turns, you can set a DM cap and a stop date, and an activity log shows every DM it sent.

### Which Instagram analytics do I get?

Per post: views, reach, likes, comments, saves, shares, reposts, profile visits and follows. Reels add watch time and skip rate, Stories add replies, navigation and link clicks. Accounts with at least 100 followers also get audience demographics.

### Can ChatGPT or Claude post to Instagram for me?

Yes. Every Instagram option in the composer is also in the REST API, the official SDKs, the CLI and the MCP server, under the same names. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client can create, schedule and check Instagram posts for you.

Webhooks tell your app when a post is scheduled, approved, published or failed. Test API keys validate a post without sending it to the platform.

### Can I run Instagram ads from OmniSocials?

Not yet. Boosting posts and running campaigns on Meta from the same workspace is coming soon.
