1080 × 1350 (4:5) takes the most feed space and works in the app and through schedulers. Profile banners are 1584 × 396. Company Page covers are now 1512 × 256.

## The short answer: Use 1080 × 1350 (4:5) for posts. Banners: 1584 × 396 and 1512 × 256.

LinkedIn takes photos from 3:1 wide to 4:5 tall, at least 552 × 276 pixels and up to 5 MB, and recommends 1,080 pixels wide. Taller photos are centered and cropped to 4:5, so 1080 × 1350 is the tallest shape that shows whole. Square 1080 × 1080 and landscape 1200 × 627 work too.

Your profile's cover image, the banner, is 1584 × 396. A company Page's cover is now 1512 × 256 in LinkedIn's Help Center, though many guides still list 1128 × 191. Schedulers, OmniSocials included, post through LinkedIn's API, which takes JPG, PNG and GIF images and up to 20 in one post.

- **Feed post**: 1080 × 1350 (4:5, the tallest shown uncropped)
- **Profile banner**: 1584 × 396 (JPG or PNG, under 8 MB)
- **Page cover**: 1512 × 256 (PNG or JPG, up to 3 MB)

## What the app allows, and what a scheduled post must fit. Schedulers publish through LinkedIn's API.

| Limit | LinkedIn app | Schedulers (the API) |
|---|---|---|
| Photo file | Up to 5 MB | JPG, PNG or GIF under 36,152,320 pixels |
| Photo shape | 3:1 to 4:5; taller is cropped | Not stated in the API docs |
| Photos per post | Up to 20 | 2 to 20 |
| Alt text | Yes, per photo | Up to 4,086 characters per image |
| Document | PDF, PPT(X), DOC(X); 100 MB, 300 pages | Same limits |
| Video file | 75 KB to 5 GB | MP4, 75 KB to 500 MB in the spec |
| Photo and link in one post | Not both | Not both; a link post can carry a thumbnail |

Every scheduler, OmniSocials included, publishes through LinkedIn's API, so the right column is what a scheduled post must fit. OmniSocials sends 2 or more images as one swipeable PDF document unless you pick a photo gallery, and converts WebP images to JPEG.

## Size it once, post it anywhere. Six rules that cover most posts.

1. **Default to 1080 × 1350** It is the tallest shape LinkedIn shows whole, at the 1,080 px width LinkedIn recommends. Anything taller is cropped to 4:5.
2. **Stay under 5 MB** LinkedIn's photo limit is 5 MB, and photos under 552 × 276 pixels are not accepted. A 1080 px JPEG fits easily.
3. **Use 1512 × 256 for a Page cover** LinkedIn's Help Center now lists 1512 × 256 as both the minimum and the recommended size. Many guides still give 1128 × 191.
4. **Keep banner text in the center** How a cover image shows changes with the window and screen. Keep key details away from the edges, and on a Page away from the lower right.
5. **One size for every document page** LinkedIn asks that a PDF with mixed page sizes be fit to one size. Design every slide at the same 4:5 or square size.
6. **Test your logo on dark** LinkedIn shows Page logos on light and dark backgrounds, and a transparent logo sits on white. Check that it reads on both.

## Sources and method

Every size on this page comes from LinkedIn's Help Center or Microsoft's LinkedIn API reference, read on October 17, 2026. Where LinkedIn publishes no number (document pages, article covers), the page says so and labels the size we suggest. Video sizes are LinkedIn's allowed range; 1080 × 1920 and 1920 × 1080 are common choices inside it.

## FAQ

### What is the recommended image post size for LinkedIn in 2026?

1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5). It is the tallest shape LinkedIn shows uncropped and takes the most room in the feed. Square 1080 × 1080 and landscape 1200 × 627 also work.

### What is the LinkedIn banner size?

1584 × 396 pixels (4:1) for a personal profile, JPG or PNG under 8 MB. LinkedIn now calls it the cover image. A company Page's cover is 1512 × 256.

### What is the LinkedIn company page banner size?

1512 × 256 pixels, which LinkedIn's Help Center lists as both the minimum and the recommended size, in PNG or JPG up to 3 MB. The 1128 × 191 many guides give is out of date.

### Can you post 1920 × 1080 on LinkedIn?

Yes. A 1920 × 1080 photo is 16:9, inside LinkedIn's 3:1 to 4:5 range, so it shows uncropped but short in the feed. A 1920 × 1080 video is fine too.

### How do I resize an image for a LinkedIn post?

Crop it to 4:5 or 1:1 in any editor and export it at 1,080 px wide, under 5 MB. LinkedIn's own editor can also crop a photo after you upload it.

### What is the LinkedIn profile picture size?

At least 400 × 400 pixels and up to 7680 × 4320, JPG or PNG, up to 8 MB. It shows as a circle, so keep your face centered. GIFs are not supported.

### What size is a LinkedIn carousel?

A LinkedIn carousel is a document post. LinkedIn publishes no page size; 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1080 are common. The file can be up to 100 MB and 300 pages, all pages one size.

### What is the LinkedIn logo size for a company Page?

400 × 400 pixels recommended, at least 268 × 268, PNG or JPG up to 3 MB. A transparent logo shows on a white background.

### What size is a LinkedIn event cover?

16:9, at least 480 pixels wide. LinkedIn names 480 × 270 and 1280 × 720 as sizes you can use.

### Which image formats does LinkedIn accept?

JPG, PNG and GIF for posts; LinkedIn's API takes GIFs of up to 250 frames. Profile photos must be JPG or PNG. OmniSocials converts WebP images to JPEG before posting.
