1. **Connect Threads in OmniSocials.** Sign in with Threads once. Each workspace connects one profile.
2. **Add the server to your agent.** Paste one URL as a custom connector, or run one command.
3. **Sign in and pick a workspace.** OAuth in the browser. Agents that run on their own use an API key.

### Publishing

Posts, threads and carousels, now or on a schedule. Try asking: "Turn this update into a thread for Thursday at 9 AM, with the two screenshots on the last post."

- create_post: Schedule a post, a thread of up to 25 posts or a mixed carousel.
- create_and_publish_post: Post to Threads right away.
- update_post: Change the text, the thread or the time of a scheduled post.
- upload_media: Upload photos and videos from a URL or the chat.
- get_post: Read a scheduled thread back, post by post.
- retry_post: Publish a failed post again. A thread goes on where it stopped.

### Replies and mentions

Answer replies on your posts and posts that mention you. Try asking: "Answer the new replies and mentions on Threads. Hide the spam."

## FAQ

### What is the Threads MCP server?

It is the OmniSocials MCP server with your Threads profile connected. Your AI agent calls its tools to post threads and carousels, answer replies and mentions and read your numbers, through Threads' official API. The server lives at https://mcp.omnisocials.com, and the same tools post to your other channels too.

### Can my agent post a long text as a thread?

Yes. create_post takes a thread of 2 to 25 posts of up to 500 characters each, and every post can carry up to 20 photos and videos. The posts after the first go out as replies to the one before.

If a thread stops halfway, a retry carries on from the first post that didn't go out, so nothing is posted twice.

### Can it post carousels and polls?

Carousels, yes: up to 20 photos and videos, mixed in the order you pick. Polls aren't in the MCP server yet; you can add a poll to a Threads post in the OmniSocials composer.

### Can it answer replies and mentions?

Yes. Replies on your posts and posts that mention you reach your agent, and it answers them as your profile. It can hide a top-level reply on your own post and show it again; deleting replies isn't supported.

Threads has no direct messages in its API, so there are no DMs to answer.

### Which numbers can it read?

Views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares on the posts you published through OmniSocials, with a thread's posts added up, and your profile's followers and views. It suggests your best days and hours to post from your own posts once 15 have been analysed, and from industry defaults until then.

### Can it read other people's Threads profiles?

No. It works with the profile you connected: your posts, the replies and mentions you get, and your numbers. It doesn't scrape other profiles, posts or followers.

### How do I connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Threads?

Connect Threads in OmniSocials first. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, click Add, choose Add custom connector and paste https://mcp.omnisocials.com. In ChatGPT, add the same URL as a custom MCP server under Plugins; in Cursor, put it in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Each one sends you to OmniSocials to sign in and pick a workspace.

### Can an AI agent post to Threads safely?

Yes. Your agent can send a post through an approval workflow: it waits until a teammate or client approves it, and only then goes out at its time. You can also ask your agent to save drafts, or to show you each post before it schedules it.

### Does the Threads MCP server need a paid plan?

It needs an active OmniSocials plan or the 14-day free trial; without one, the server turns the connection down. The trial needs a card to start, and the MCP server is part of the one plan, like every other feature.

### How much does OmniSocials cost?

One plan with every feature included: $10 per seat per month billed annually, or $12 billed monthly. Team members and client seats cost the same. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial.
