### Publishing

- update_post: Change the text, the thread or the time of a scheduled post.

- get_recent_platform_posts: Your latest X posts with views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and bookmarks.
- get_post_analytics: The numbers X reports for one post, link clicks too in its first 30 days.
- get_posts_analytics: The numbers for many posts at once, to compare them.
- get_account_analytics: Your followers, who you follow and your post count.

## FAQ

### What is the X MCP server?

It is the OmniSocials MCP server with your X account connected. Your AI agent calls its tools to post threads, answer your DMs and read your numbers on X. The server lives at https://mcp.omnisocials.com, and the same tools post to your other channels too.

### Do I need an X developer account or API plan?

No. You connect X with X's own sign-in, on any account tier, and OmniSocials publishes for you. There is no developer account to set up and no X API plan to pay for.

### Can my agent post threads?

Yes. A thread holds 2 to 25 posts of up to 280 characters each, with up to 4 images or a video on any post. Your agent also sets who can reply (everyone, people you follow or people you mention) and the paid partnership and made with AI labels.

Polls aren't in the MCP server yet. You can add a poll to an X post in the OmniSocials composer.

### Why do some X posts use credits?

X charges for posts that contain a link, and OmniSocials passes that fee through at cost: 20 credits for each post or thread part with an http(s) link. Posts without a link cost nothing extra.

The cost shows in OmniSocials, not in your agent. Credits are set aside when the post is scheduled and only charged once it goes out. A link post your balance can't cover is refused up front, and your agent is told that X link posts aren't enabled on the account.

### Can it answer my X DMs?

Yes, once you switch X DMs on in OmniSocials, which needs 25 credits and someone with billing access. Each DM you receive uses 1 credit and each reply 2, and DMs pause when the balance runs out. Replies are text only.

Messages from before you switched DMs on don't come in, and mentions and replies to your posts stay on X.

### Is there an official X MCP server?

Yes. X launched its own hosted MCP server on June 30, 2026, and TechCrunch reported that it reads the X API with your account's permissions but does not post. The OmniSocials MCP server is for publishing: it schedules your posts and threads, answers your DMs, adds approvals and works with your other channels too.

### How do I connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to X?

Connect X in OmniSocials first. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, click Add, choose Add custom connector and paste https://mcp.omnisocials.com. In ChatGPT, add the same URL as a custom MCP server under Plugins; in Cursor, put it in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Each one sends you to OmniSocials to sign in and pick a workspace.

### Can an AI agent post to X safely?

Yes. Your agent can send a post through an approval workflow: it waits until a teammate or client approves it, and only then goes out at its time. You can also ask your agent to save drafts, or to show you each post before it schedules it.

### Does the X MCP server need a paid plan?

It needs an active OmniSocials plan or the 14-day free trial; without one, the server turns the connection down. The trial needs a card to start, and the MCP server is part of the one plan, like every other feature.

### How much does OmniSocials cost?

One plan with every feature included: $10 per seat per month billed annually, or $12 billed monthly. Team members and client seats cost the same. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial.
