## FAQ

### Can you schedule YouTube Shorts?

Yes. YouTube Studio can schedule a Short by setting when it goes public. OmniSocials schedules your Shorts on one calendar with your other channels, with the title, privacy, tags and cover set, and uploads each one on its own at the time you pick.

### Can I schedule long videos to YouTube?

No. OmniSocials publishes YouTube Shorts: one vertical or square video of up to 3 minutes. A longer video is stopped before you schedule it. Regular long videos, community posts and playlists aren’t supported.

### What can I set on a Short?

The title, the description, privacy (public, unlisted or private), made for kids, the AI-generated content label, whether to notify subscribers, tags, a category from YouTube’s 14, the license, the language and audio language, embedding and view counts. You can also add a first comment of up to 10,000 characters and a cover.

The title is optional. Leave it empty and YouTube gets the first line of your caption, up to its 100 characters. The description is your caption, up to 5,000 characters.

### Can I pick the cover of a Short?

Yes. Pick a frame from the video or an image from your library. YouTube shows a custom cover on Shorts only on channels where it has turned custom Shorts thumbnails on, Partner Program channels first. On other channels the Short shows a frame from the video.

### Which YouTube channels can I connect?

Any channel your Google account manages, brand channels too. If the account manages several, you pick one before anything is saved. Each workspace connects one channel; a second channel goes in a second workspace.

After every upload OmniSocials checks which channel the Short landed on. If it isn’t the one you connected, the video is deleted and the post fails, so nothing stays on the wrong channel.

### Does OmniSocials publish to YouTube automatically?

Yes. Every Short uploads on its own at the time you pick, through YouTube’s official API, with no reminder or phone notification to act on. When you delete a published Short in OmniSocials, you choose whether it is deleted on YouTube too.

If a post fails on a temporary error, OmniSocials retries it up to 3 times, 15 minutes apart. You can also retry it yourself, and only the failed platforms publish again.

### Can I answer YouTube comments?

Yes. Comments on your channel’s videos land in the Social Inbox, where you reply as the channel or hide them. YouTube has no comment webhooks, so new comments arrive within 24 hours, not in real time.

### Which YouTube analytics do I get?

Views, likes and comments on every Short, and your channel’s subscribers, total views and video count.

### Can ChatGPT or Claude post to YouTube for me?

Yes. Connect the OmniSocials MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client and ask in plain words: it uploads and schedules your Shorts with the title, tags, privacy and cover, and reads and answers the comments. With an approval workflow, nothing goes out before someone approves it.

Shorts with the title, tags, privacy, category, made for kids, notify subscribers, the AI label, the first comment and the cover are also in the REST API, the official SDKs and the CLI. License, languages, embedding and view counts are set in the composer.

Webhooks tell your app when a post is scheduled, approved, rejected, published or failed.

### Can I run YouTube ads from OmniSocials?

Not yet. Promoting a Short you published through OmniSocials with Google Ads is coming soon.
