Give a Threads post a topic, such as Build in public. Threads shows it next to your name.
Give a Threads post a topic, such as Build in public. Threads shows the topic next to your name and lists your post under that topic, where people who open the topic can find it.
Pick Threads in the composer, then click Topic in the bar under your post. A post has one topic of up to 50 characters. Spaces are fine, so a topic can have more than one word. Threads does not allow a period (.) or an ampersand (&) in a topic. The Threads preview shows the topic next to your name, as Threads will. On a thread of several posts, the topic goes on the first post.
Improved
- Topics in the API - the public API, the MCP server and the CLI take the topic as
topic_tagin thethreadsoptions. See the Threads guide. - Polls from your AI assistant - AI assistants with the OmniSocials connector, such as Claude, can now add a poll to an X, Threads or Mastodon post.
Fixed
- Duplicate keeps the poll - a duplicated Threads or Mastodon post now keeps its poll. Before, the copy had no poll.
- Poll changes in a review - when you change the poll of a Threads or Mastodon post that waits for approval, the change is now saved. Before, it was lost.
