Discord and comment to DM for Facebook Pages are live

  • 1 new

A roadmap update: comment to DM is live for Facebook Pages, for every workspace with a Facebook Page connected, and Discord is the 13th platform in OmniSocials.

Comment to DM for Facebook Pages is live

Ask people to comment a keyword under a post of your Page, for example GUIDE. Each person who does gets your message in Messenger, with your link, offer or guide. Each person gets it once.

You can also answer in public under the comment ("Sent you a message!"). Add a few variations and OmniSocials rotates them, so your replies do not all look the same.

Two ways to start the message

One automation can listen to both at the same time:

  • A comment with the keyword: on one post of your Page, on the next post you publish, or on every post of the Page. A post you published on Facebook itself works too.
  • A Messenger message to your Page with the keyword.

Story replies stay an Instagram trigger, because Facebook has no story replies.

One setup for Instagram and Facebook

Open Automations, choose New automation and then Send a lead magnet. With Instagram and a Facebook Page connected, pick the channels at the top: one of them, or both. With both on, you pick the post on each channel, and a switch over the phone shows what people see on Instagram and in Messenger.

When you create a post that goes to Instagram and Facebook, turn on Comment to DM in the post options once. A switch per channel sets where it runs, with the same keywords and message on both. It starts the moment the post is live.

Every automation has an activity page: each person who matched, what they wrote, and what happened. On Facebook a person shows with their name, because Facebook has no @handle.

Or ask your AI assistant

With the OmniSocials connector in Claude or ChatGPT, ask for it in plain words: "Send everyone who comments GUIDE on my last Facebook post the link to my guide". The assistant sets up the automation after you confirm. Developers pass platform: "facebook" to the /automations endpoints of the API, or platforms on comment_dm_automation when they create a post.

Facebook's rules

The rules are the same as on Instagram. Facebook allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days of the comment. A second message is possible only after the person answers you. OmniSocials sends up to 180 DMs an hour per Page.

Post to Discord

Discord is now a channel in OmniSocials. Plan and schedule posts for a channel of your Discord server in the same composer and on the same calendar as your other channels. See the Discord page.

An OmniSocials post previewed for Discord in the editor: the webhook's picture and name with the APP tag, the text, the image and two link buttons in one row

A Discord post holds up to 2,000 characters of text, with Discord's own Markdown, and up to 10 images, GIFs and videos. A video over 20 MB goes as a link, and Discord plays it from there. The Discord options add up to 5 link buttons, a native poll (the post text is the question), a title for a forum post, a silent send and a spoiler blur. A reel goes to Discord as one video message.

Connect it with Discord or a webhook

Open Channels and pick Discord. Click Continue with Discord, choose your server and a text channel, and press Authorize. You need the Manage Server permission in that server. You can also paste the URL of a webhook you made in Discord.

OmniSocials posts through that webhook, so there is no bot to add and no token that expires. Every post shows the webhook's name and picture. Disconnecting never deletes the webhook.

Mentions stay quiet

@everyone, @here and role mentions in a post notify nobody until you turn on Ping @everyone and roles. A scheduled post never pings your whole server by accident.

Reactions, polls and deleting

The post page shows the reactions per emoji and the votes of a poll. Discord gives a webhook no views and no member count, so those show N/A. Click Delete from Discord on the post page to remove a sent post, at any time.

Discord everywhere else

A repost automation can copy your posts from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and the other sources to your Discord channel. The public API, the CLI and the SDKs take the discord channel and its options (Discord API), and AI agents post to Discord through the OmniSocials MCP server (Discord MCP). Every option is in the help article.
