Why people are leaving Sprout Social

The inbox starts at $199 per seat. Essentials, Sprout's new $79 plan ($99 billed monthly), has no inbox. Engagement starts on Standard at $199 per seat a month billed yearly, or $249 billed monthly, and every user on the account pays the same seat price.

Five profiles on the first two plans. Essentials and Standard hold 5 social profiles, and each Google, Yelp or Glassdoor review location counts as one. Unlimited profiles start on Professional at $299 per seat; Sprout sells extra profiles but does not publish their price.

Approvals and bulk scheduling start at $299. The approval workflow, bulk scheduling and Instagram grid planning are on Professional and Advanced only. External approvals, for clients, need Advanced at $399 per seat a month billed yearly.

The API needs Advanced and writes drafts only. The Sprout Public API is for Advanced users. It reads analytics and creates draft posts, not scheduled ones, at 60 requests a minute. Sprout's MCP server works with ChatGPT only and covers TikTok data.

No Mastodon or Telegram. Sprout publishes to 12 networks, Snapchat and Reddit included, but not to Mastodon or Telegram, and it cannot schedule X threads.

What Sprout Social still does better

  • A Smart Inbox with WhatsApp, Reddit and review sites (Google, Yelp, Glassdoor, app stores), with case management, and chatbots and sentiment on Advanced.
  • Publishing to Snapchat and Reddit, which OmniSocials does not offer.
  • Listening and Premium Analytics add-ons, and competitor reports from Professional.
  • Live phone and chat support 24/5 on every plan, and native iOS and Android apps.
  • Salesforce, HubSpot and Zendesk on Advanced, and Shopify from Professional.

For a large care team or an enterprise reporting stack, Sprout covers more. OmniSocials has no listening, no review management and no native app.

What you get with OmniSocials

One calendar, filled by you or your AI agent

Plan in a week or month view, keep drafts in the tray and preview each post the way each platform shows it. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another agent through the MCP server, and the posts it schedules land on the same calendar for you to check. How the MCP server works

One inbox for 7 platforms

DMs, comments and mentions from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X and Threads in one list, on every seat. Sprout's Smart Inbox starts on Standard at $199 per seat billed yearly. See the inbox

Repost automations

Post on one platform and let an automation repost it to the others on your schedule, for example your Instagram Reels to TikTok, one a day at 9:00 AM. Automations can also bring in your older posts from 8 platforms. See automations

Approvals for teams and clients

Add approval steps per workspace, so a teammate or client signs off before a post goes live. Reviewers comment, request changes or approve, and roles decide who can post, reply or see analytics. On Sprout, approvals start on Professional at $299 per seat. See collaboration

For developers

Sprout Social has an API and an MCP server too. Here is how they compare.
