Navigating OmniSocials

Get to know your way around OmniSocials.

OmniSocials has two parts: the sidebar on the left, where you switch workspaces and move between pages, and the main panel on the right, where you do your work. This article walks through the sidebar from top to bottom and explains what each item is for.

The sidebar

The sidebar stays in place as you move between pages. From top to bottom it holds the workspace switcher, the Home and Drafts views, the Create Post button, the main pages, and your account menu.

Workspace switcher

The top of the sidebar shows the workspace you're working in. A workspace holds the channels, posts and analytics of one brand or client, so everything you see in the app belongs to the selected workspace.

Click the workspace name to:

  • See the channels connected to this workspace. Click a channel, or Add channel, to connect or manage channels.
  • Open this workspace's settings with the gear icon.
  • Switch to another workspace. If you belong to more than one organization, workspaces are grouped by organization.
  • Create a workspace with New workspace.

An amber dot on a workspace or channel icon means a channel's connection has expired. See Connect your channels to reconnect it.

Home and Drafts

Below the workspace switcher are two views:

  • Home shows the main pages of the app. This is the default view.
  • Drafts replaces the pages with a list of the drafts in this workspace. Click a draft to keep editing it. Hover over a draft and click the three dots to Duplicate, Share or Delete it. To delete, click Delete and then Confirm.

A third tab, Ads, is marked as coming soon and can't be opened yet.

Create Post

The blue Create Post button opens the composer, where you write a post and choose its channels. In the Drafts view, the button reads Create Draft. It opens the same composer, and the post you're writing shows at the top of the drafts list until you save it.

You need at least one connected channel before you can create a post. If your role doesn't allow creating posts, you don't see this button. To learn more, see Create a post.

Pages

In the Home view, the middle of the sidebar lists the main pages:

  • Calendar: your scheduled and published posts by week or month. OmniSocials opens on this page.
  • Posts: all posts as a list, with tabs for Posted, Scheduled, Drafts, In approval, Rejected and Failed.
  • Analytics: how your channels and posts perform.
  • Social Inbox: comments, mentions and direct messages from your channels in one place. The number next to it shows unread messages.
  • Workflows: automations that repost content between platforms on a schedule.

You only see Analytics and Social Inbox if your role gives you access to them.

Approval, Library and Settings

The bottom of the sidebar holds three more items:

  • Approval: posts waiting for your review and the approvals you requested. The number shows how many posts are waiting for you. This item shows in the Home view.
  • Library: your media library. A number here means some unused files are flagged for removal. Open the library to review them.
  • Settings: opens the settings window. Its menu has two parts. Account holds your profile, notifications, preferences and help. Organisations lists each organization you belong to, with its workspaces, approval workflows, team, clients, roles, billing, integrations and API keys.

Above these items, the sidebar sometimes shows a small card, for example to connect your AI assistant or to read about a new release. Click the X on a card to hide it. If your plan needs attention, for example after your trial ends, a billing card shows in that spot instead.

Your account menu

Your name and profile picture sit at the bottom of the sidebar. Click them to see which account you're signed in with and to open:

  • Account Settings, Manage Notifications and Preferences: shortcuts to these pages in Settings.
  • Resources: step-by-step recipes for using OmniSocials with Claude, such as creating carousels.
  • Affiliate: the affiliate program for recommending OmniSocials.
  • Help: how to reach the support team.
  • My Organisation: your organization's settings.
  • Log out: signs you out.

The main panel

Everything to the right of the sidebar is the main panel. It shows the page you pick in the sidebar. Most pages have a bar at the top with that page's controls. On the Calendar, for example, you move through dates with the arrows and Today, and switch between the Week and Month views.

Settings opens as a window on top of the page you're on. Press Esc to close it.

Hide the sidebar

On a Mac, press ⌘ / to hide the sidebar and give the main panel the full width. Press ⌘ / again, or click the double arrow at the top left of the page, to bring the sidebar back.
