LinkedIn

Connect your LinkedIn profile, a company page or both, and publish posts, carousels, videos and polls.

OmniSocials connects two kinds of LinkedIn accounts: your personal profile, shown as LinkedIn Profile, and a company page you manage, shown as LinkedIn Page. You can connect both in the same workspace and post to each one separately.

What you can publish

FormatDetails
Text postText only. A link in the text shows a preview card.
Image postOne image, or several images as a document carousel or an image gallery
PDFA PDF from your Library, published as a document with swipeable pages
VideoOne video
PollA question with 2 to 4 options

Comments and mentions on your LinkedIn Page can also come into your Social Inbox. Comments on your personal profile and direct messages aren't available there.

Requirements

  • A LinkedIn account.
  • For a LinkedIn Page: admin access to the company page.
  • The Manage social channels permission in your OmniSocials workspace.

Each workspace connects one LinkedIn profile and one company page.

Connect your LinkedIn profile

  1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, then click the channels button under the workspace. The Channels window opens.
  2. Under Add a channel, click LinkedIn Profile.
  3. Sign in to LinkedIn and allow OmniSocials access.

Your profile connects right away.

Connect a LinkedIn company page

  1. Click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, then click the channels button under the workspace. The Channels window opens.
  2. Under Add a channel, click LinkedIn Page.
  3. Sign in to LinkedIn and allow OmniSocials access. If your LinkedIn profile is already connected, OmniSocials uses that sign-in and skips this step.
  4. In Choose a LinkedIn Page, choose the page and click Connect with the page's name.

LinkedIn options in the editor

Click the LinkedIn Profile or LinkedIn Page icon in the channel bar to see and edit that version of your post. Each one has its own text, media and poll. Type @ in the LinkedIn editor to mention a company or person.

Add a poll

  1. In the LinkedIn version of your post, click Add a poll in the toolbar.
  2. Enter the Question and 2 to 4 Options.
  3. Choose a Duration: 1 day, 3 days, 1 week or 2 weeks.

A post with a poll can't have images or video.

Choose how several images publish

When the LinkedIn version has two or more images and no video, a carousel style button appears on the images. Choose:

  • Document carousel: swipeable slides, LinkedIn's native carousel. This is the default for images.
  • Image gallery: a classic post with several images.
  • Original PDF: your uploaded PDF as it is, with sharp text and working links. This option appears, and is the default, when the images are the unchanged pages of a PDF you uploaded.

First comment

Add a First comment with its chip in the options bar under the editor. A good use is a link, so the caption itself doesn't contain one.

Troubleshooting

Your company page isn't in the list. Make sure you're signed in to LinkedIn with the right account and that you're an admin of the page.

The dialog says some company pages couldn't be loaded. LinkedIn is temporarily limiting requests. You can connect your profile now and come back later for your pages.

The channel shows under Needs attention with Expired and a date. Click Reconnect and sign in to LinkedIn again.

The poll shows an error. A poll needs a question of up to 140 characters, 2 to 4 options of up to 30 characters each, and a duration.
