Connect your YouTube channel to upload and schedule your video content.
Before You Start
You'll need:
- A Google account with a YouTube channel
- Owner or manager access to the channel
Connecting YouTube
- Go to Settings > Workspace (or use onboarding)
- Click Connect YouTube
- Sign in to Google
- Select your YouTube channel
- Grant the permissions
- Done!
What You Can Do
Posting
- Upload regular videos
- Upload Shorts
- Schedule videos for later
Analytics
- View counts
- Engagement stats
- Channel performance
Note: Live streaming and Community posts need to be done directly on YouTube.
Video Specs
Regular Videos
- Horizontal (16:9) works best
- 1080p or higher recommended
- Up to 12 hours long
- Up to 256 GB file size
- MP4, MOV, AVI, or WMV
Shorts
- Vertical (9:16)
- 60 seconds or less
- Create these as "Reels" in OmniSocials
Titles & Descriptions
- Title: up to 100 characters
- Description: up to 5,000 characters
- Tags: up to 500 characters total
Best Practices
- Create eye-catching thumbnails (upload these in YouTube Studio)
- Write detailed descriptions with keywords
- Add relevant tags for discoverability
- Schedule during your audience's peak viewing times
- Try Shorts for a quick algorithm boost
Troubleshooting
Can't connect?
- Verify you own or manage the channel
- Check your Google account permissions
- Try in incognito mode
- Make sure the channel isn't restricted
Upload failing?
- Check your file size and format
- Verify your internet connection
- Make sure you have storage space
- Look at any error messages
Shorts not publishing?
- Video must be under 60 seconds
- Must be vertical (9:16)
- Select "Reel" as the post type in OmniSocials
