Postiz facts and prices checked on October 18, 2026 on postiz.com/pricing and Postiz docs: plans and limits. Prices in USD. Something out of date? Tell us.

Why people are leaving Postiz

There is no inbox. Postiz schedules posts and comments on your own posts, but its app has no inbox for DMs or replies, and its docs say the MCP server cannot read or answer comments (October 2026).

Standard is one person. Standard, at $29 a month or $23 billed yearly, has no team members and allows 2 webhooks. Teammates and RSS auto-posting start on Team, at $39 a month or $31 billed yearly (postiz.com/pricing, October 18, 2026).

Channels are capped per plan. Plans hold 5, 10, 30 or 100 connected accounts, and there is no add-on for one more: you move up a plan. Posts are unlimited on every paid plan.

Self-hosting is real work. The free, self-hosted version needs PostgreSQL, Redis and Temporal, at least 2 GB of memory (4 GB or more recommended) and your own developer app on most platforms. Postiz calls self-hosting a secondary option, and agent features ship on its cloud first.

Approval is a comment thread. Postiz shares a public preview link that clients can comment on. Its docs say there is no approved state that blocks publishing: you move the post from draft to scheduled yourself.

What Postiz still does better

  • Open source under AGPL-3.0, with about 37,000 GitHub stars, so you can run it on your own servers with no plan limits.
  • 34 platforms, including Reddit, Discord, Slack, Medium, WordPress and Tumblr, which OmniSocials does not cover.
  • Unlimited teammates from the Team plan, and 30 channels on Pro for $39 a month billed yearly, so several brands with a team can cost less.
  • Built-in AI image and video generation, video clipping, RSS auto-posting and repeated posts.
  • A REST API, a CLI and an MCP server on every plan, including self-hosted installs.

If you want to own the code and the servers, or you post to communities and blogs, Postiz is the better fit. OmniSocials is hosted only and has no RSS or recurring posts.

Postiz vs OmniSocials pricing

Both prices below are billed yearly and were checked on October 18, 2026. OmniSocials charges per seat: each brand (one workspace) and each teammate is a seat. Postiz charges per plan by the number of channels. OmniSocials costs less for one brand, with or without a helper. From three brands with a teammate Postiz Cloud costs less, because Pro holds 30 channels and unlimited teammates for $39 a month billed yearly. Self-hosting Postiz has no license fee, but you run the servers.

What you get with OmniSocials

One calendar, filled by you or your AI agent

Plan in a week or month view, keep drafts in the tray and preview each post the way each platform shows it. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another agent through the MCP server, and the posts it schedules land on the same calendar for you to check. How the MCP server works

One inbox for 7 platforms

DMs, comments and mentions from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X and Threads in one list, on every seat. Postiz has no inbox: DMs and comments stay in each platform's app. See the inbox

Repost automations

Post on one platform and let an automation repost it to the others on your schedule, for example your Instagram Reels to TikTok, one a day at 9:00 AM. Automations can also bring in your older posts from 8 platforms. See automations

Approvals for teams and clients

Add approval steps per workspace, so a teammate or client signs off before a post goes live. Reviewers comment, request changes or approve, and roles decide who can post, reply or see analytics. Postiz shares a preview link for comments, with no approve step. See collaboration

For developers

Postiz has an API, a CLI and an MCP server too. Here is how they compare.

Both give your code and your agent a REST API, an MCP server, a CLI and webhooks on every plan. Postiz is open source and can run on your own servers. OmniSocials is hosted, with an MCP server that also answers DMs and comments, SDKs in 8 languages and signed webhooks for every step of a post.

    OmniSocials vs Zernio
  • Buffer

Best for simple queues on a budget

Free for 3 channels. Essentials from $6 per channel a month ($5 billed yearly). (checked Oct 18, 2026)

  • Ayrshare

Best for letting your own users post to social media from your product

Premium $149 a month ($129 billed yearly) for one profile. (checked Oct 18, 2026)

    OmniSocials vs Ayrshare
  • Metricool

Best for analytics and competitor tracking

Free for 1 brand. Starter $25 a month ($20 billed yearly) for up to 5 brands. (checked Oct 18, 2026)

The catch: X is a $10 a month add-on per account, and LinkedIn needs a paid plan.

    OmniSocials vs Metricool

How to switch from Postiz

  1. Connect your accounts

Make a workspace for each brand and connect each account through the platform's own sign-in. Every feature is open for 14 days, the API and MCP server included.

  2. Rebuild your queue

There is no import from Postiz. Its API can list your scheduled posts, and the OmniSocials API, the composer or your AI agent can schedule them again.

  3. Cancel Postiz when you are live

Keep both running until your scheduled posts are in OmniSocials, then cancel your Postiz Cloud plan before its renewal date, or shut down your own server.
