The short answer

Pick OmniSocials if your team wants to plan, approve and answer in an app without writing code, post to Mastodon, or pay a fixed price per seat instead of per connected account, with an API and an MCP server for your agent. OmniSocials costs $10 per seat a month billed yearly, or $12 billed monthly.

Stay with Zernio if you build a product where your own users connect their accounts, or need ads, WhatsApp, Reddit, Discord or Slack through one API. Zernio is free for 2 connected accounts, then $6 per account a month, billed monthly by usage.

Why people are leaving Zernio

The bill grows with every account. Zernio charges per connected account: the first 2 are free, then $6 each up to 10, $3 up to 100 and $1 after that. One brand on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok is 4 accounts, or $12 a month on its own (zernio.com/pricing, October 18, 2026).

Usage adds up on top. Every X post is billed at X's API rates, $0.015 a post and $0.20 with a link. Messages sent from the inbox are free up to 10,000 a month, then $1 per 10,000, and managed ads are metered past 500.

It is built for developers. Zernio's own pricing FAQ says it is built for developers and teams with technical resources. Its docs describe no approval step for posts, so a client sign-off flow is yours to build.

No Mastodon. Zernio publishes to 16 platforms, including Reddit, Discord, Slack and WhatsApp, but not Mastodon. Snapchat is listed but not live yet, because Snap has not approved Zernio's app.

A new name and a wider scope. Zernio used to be Late, and getlate.dev now redirects to zernio.com. Next to social posting it now sells ads management, phone numbers, calls, SMS, RCS and iMessage, all on one usage bill.

What Zernio still does better

  • Multi-tenant by design: one profile per customer, white-label and headless connect flows, and webhooks that carry your own customer id. OmniSocials' platform integration for this is coming soon.
  • Free for 2 connected accounts, with no card and no trial clock.
  • Ads on 8 networks, plus WhatsApp, SMS, calls, Reddit, Discord and Slack through one API.
  • No seat fees: teammates are free, and past 100 accounts each one costs $1 a month.
  • Higher API limits: 600 requests a minute on paid usage, against 100 per key on OmniSocials.

If you are building a product on top of social APIs, Zernio is the stronger base. OmniSocials is for teams that post for their own brands and clients and want the app, the inbox and approvals ready to use.

Zernio vs OmniSocials pricing

OmniSocials' prices below are billed yearly; Zernio bills monthly by usage, with no yearly plan. Both were checked on October 18, 2026. OmniSocials charges per seat: each brand (one workspace) and each teammate is a seat. Zernio charges per connected account, billed monthly by usage. OmniSocials costs less for one brand run by one person and for several brands run by a small team (3 brands and 2 people: $40 against $54 a month). Zernio costs less when several people share one or two brands, because teammates are free, and past about 36 brands, when each extra account costs $1. Two accounts on Zernio are free.

OmniSocials: $10 per seat a month billed yearly ($12 monthly), every feature included; X posts with a link use pass-through credits. Zernio: billed monthly by usage, with no yearly plan and no seats: the first 2 connected accounts free, then $6 an account up to 10, $3 up to 100 and $1 after that. What you get with OmniSocials

One calendar, filled by you or your AI agent

Plan in a week or month view, keep drafts in the tray and preview each post the way each platform shows it. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another agent through the MCP server, and the posts it schedules land on the same calendar for you to check. How the MCP server works

One inbox for 7 platforms

DMs, comments and mentions from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X and Threads in one list, on every seat. Zernio offers its inbox as an API to build on, with DMs on channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram. See the inbox

Repost automations

Post on one platform and let an automation repost it to the others on your schedule, for example your Instagram Reels to TikTok, one a day at 9:00 AM. Automations can also bring in your older posts from 8 platforms. See automations

Approvals for teams and clients

Add approval steps per workspace, so a teammate or client signs off before a post goes live. Reviewers comment, request changes or approve, and roles decide who can post, reply or see analytics. Zernio's docs describe no approval step for posts. See collaboration

For developers

Zernio is an API and MCP server first. Here is how the two compare.

Both have a REST API with Bearer keys, a hosted MCP server, SDKs in 8 languages, a CLI and HMAC-signed webhooks. Zernio goes wider, with ads, messaging and white-label connect flows for your own users. OmniSocials keeps to 12 social platforms and adds the scheduling app, inbox and approvals your team uses every day, for one price per seat.

Other Zernio alternatives

OmniSocials is not the only option. These four come up most when people look for a Zernio alternative, from other social APIs to scheduling apps with an API. Each price is the vendor's cheapest paid plan, checked on its own pricing page.

  • Ayrshare

Best for letting your own users post to social media from your product

Premium $149 a month ($129 billed yearly) for one profile. (checked Oct 18, 2026)

The catch: Premium is one user, so a teammate or a second brand means Launch at $299 a month ($249 billed yearly).

    OmniSocials vs Ayrshare
  • Postiz

Best for open-source scheduling you can self-host

Free to self-host. Cloud Standard $29 a month ($23 billed yearly) for 5 channels. (checked Oct 18, 2026)

    OmniSocials vs Buffer
  • Metricool

Best for analytics and competitor tracking

Free for 1 brand. Starter $25 a month ($20 billed yearly) for up to 5 brands. (checked Oct 18, 2026)

The catch: X is a $10 a month add-on per account, and LinkedIn needs a paid plan.

    OmniSocials vs Metricool

How to switch from Zernio

  1. Connect your accounts and create a key

Make a workspace for each brand, connect each account through the platform's own sign-in and create an API key. The API, MCP server and SDKs all work during the 14-day trial.

  2. Repoint your calls

There is no import from Zernio. Swap its endpoints for the OmniSocials API or an SDK, or point your agent at the MCP server, then recreate your scheduled posts.

  3. Disconnect Zernio when you are live

Keep both running until your posts and webhooks flow through OmniSocials, then disconnect your Zernio accounts so the per-account billing stops.

Frequently asked questions

Is OmniSocials a good alternative to Zernio?

Yes, if your team wants a scheduling app next to the API. OmniSocials covers 12 platforms, Mastodon included, with an inbox for 7 platforms, approval steps, a REST API, an MCP server with 56 tools, SDKs in 8 languages and a CLI in every seat, from $10 a month billed yearly.

Zernio is the better fit if your own users connect their accounts inside your product, or if you need ads, WhatsApp, SMS, Reddit, Discord or Slack through one API.

What are the best alternatives to Zernio?

It depends on what you build. OmniSocials if you post for your own brands and want an app, an inbox and approvals next to the API. Ayrshare for a social API priced per profile, with a white-label page where your users link their accounts. Postiz for open source you can self-host. Buffer for a free plan that includes API access. Metricool for analytics across several brands.

Is Zernio free?

Partly. Your first 2 connected accounts are free, with no credit card, unlimited posts and the full API, at 60 requests a minute. From the third account Zernio charges $6 an account a month (zernio.com/pricing, October 18, 2026).

OmniSocials has no free plan. It starts with a 14-day trial, card required, then costs $10 per seat a month billed yearly.

How much does Zernio cost?

Zernio bills per connected account each month: accounts 1 and 2 are free, accounts 3 to 10 cost $6 each, 11 to 100 cost $3 each and every account after that $1. Its own examples: 10 accounts cost $48 a month, 20 cost $78 and 100 cost $318. X API calls, phone numbers and messages past 10,000 a month are billed on top. There is no yearly plan.

Is Zernio the same as Late?

Yes. Zernio is the new name of Late: getlate.dev redirects to zernio.com, and Zernio's webhooks still send the old X-Late headers as legacy aliases. If you are looking for a Late API alternative, the comparison on this page applies.

Does Zernio have an MCP server?

Yes. Zernio's hosted MCP server at mcp.zernio.com has 20 hand-written core tools plus one generated tool for each API endpoint, and signs in with OAuth or an API key. OmniSocials' MCP server at mcp.omnisocials.com has 56 tools for posts, the inbox and analytics, and works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client.

Does Zernio support Mastodon?

No. Zernio publishes to X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky, Threads, Google Business, Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord and Slack, with Snapchat waiting on Snap's approval. OmniSocials supports Mastodon next to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky, Google Business and Telegram.

Can my users connect their own accounts, like on Zernio?

Not yet. Zernio gives each of your customers a profile and lets them link accounts through white-label or headless connect flows. OmniSocials' platform integration for this is coming soon. Today, each brand is a workspace that you or your team connect, and clients can join as seats to review and approve.

Can I move my scheduled posts from Zernio to OmniSocials?

There is no automatic import from Zernio. Connect your accounts, then recreate your upcoming posts through the OmniSocials API, the composer or your AI agent. Keep Zernio until everything runs in OmniSocials, then disconnect its accounts so billing stops.

How much does OmniSocials cost?

One plan with every feature: $10 per seat a month billed yearly, or $12 billed monthly. Each workspace (one brand) and each teammate or client is a seat. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial; a credit card is required and the first charge comes when the trial ends.
