There is no limit. LinkedIn's own Pages guide suggests 3 to 5, and hashtags no longer add reach on their own. Paste a post below to count its hashtags.

LinkedIn publishes no cap on hashtags in a post, in the app or through its API. Its Pages best practices say: "Identify 3-5 hashtags that are top of mind for your organization and add them to your posts when relevant." Hashtags count toward the post's 3,000 characters.
Hashtags still label a post. LinkedIn told Social Media Today they help viewers "easily identify what a post is about", and that it also weighs "conversation topics and keywords". When it retired Creator Mode in 2024, LinkedIn said hashtags "are no longer necessary for highlighting the most relevant content in the app".

That is LinkedIn's own advice for Pages. More is allowed but adds clutter, not reach.
LinkedIn reads conversation topics and keywords, not only hashtags. Name your topic in plain words in the first lines.
A common split: one broad topic tag, one or two niche tags and a branded tag. It is a tactic, not a LinkedIn rule.
LinkedIn's API defines a hashtag as # plus a single word, so leave out spaces. Use capitals to make long tags readable, such as #ContentMarketing.
Hashtags in the middle of a sentence break the read before the fold. A short line of tags at the end keeps the point up top.
Keep a few sets for your main topics so every post gets a fitting group without retyping.
The rules come from LinkedIn's Help Center, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions and Microsoft's LinkedIn API reference, read on October 17, 2026. LinkedIn publishes no hashtag cap, so the page says so instead of repeating the 30 that some guides give. Statements about reach come from LinkedIn as reported by Social Media Today, and from Richard van der Blom's research, labeled as such.
