Every week, says Pinterest, and fresh Pins count more than repeats. Schedulers advise 1 to 5 fresh Pins a day. No large study ties more Pins to more growth, so pick a pace you can keep.
Checked on against 9 sources.
Pinterest's guidance is weekly. Its 2025 audience guide says "It's best to add more content every week" and to focus on the content "rather than anchoring to a specific number of Pins per week". In 2022 it called weekly posting "a good rule of thumb".
No large study ties posting more often to faster growth on Pinterest. The data does show that fresh Pins matter: in Tailwind's study, a new image on a link you had already Pinned kept 64% of its reach, while the same image and link kept 11%. Schedulers such as Tailwind advise 1 to 5 fresh Pins a day.
Pinterest's 2026 brand moments guide: "Show up early (and often!)". Seasonal searches build months ahead, so a steady flow before the peak counts. Source

Pinterest's baseline is every week. Move to one a day when that feels easy, and only then try more.
Pinterest says fresh Pins "help you to reach new people regularly". In Tailwind's data, repeating the same image and link kept only 11% of the reach.
A new image on a link you already Pinned kept 64% of its reach in Tailwind's study. One blog post can carry several fresh Pins.
Pinterest's own scheduler holds 10 Pins, up to 30 days ahead. A scheduler that posts through the API can queue the whole month.
Pinterest's rule of thumb: "If the moment peaks in June, launch in April." Keep posting through the planning window.
Reach for a new Pin kept growing over its first 90 days in Tailwind's data. Give a new pace two to three months before you change it.
The frequency guidance comes from Pinterest's business blog (2022, 2025 and 2026) and its Help Center. The data comes from Tailwind's 2025 Benchmark Study of about 1.2 million organic Pins, which is vendor data. No study we found links Pinterest posting frequency to growth the way Buffer's studies do for other networks, so the paces above weekly are labeled as schedulers' advice, not results.
