Pinterest recommends "a 2:3 aspect ratio, or 1000 x 1500 pixels" and warns that "Larger aspect ratios may get cut off in people's feeds." In the app you can also pick 9:16, 3:4, 4:5 or 1:1, and image files can be BMP, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or WebP, up to 20 MB on the web.
Schedulers, OmniSocials included, publish through Pinterest's API. It takes JPEG and PNG images and carousels of 2 to 5 images at one ratio. Video Pins look best at 1080 × 1920 (9:16); keep text out of the top 270 px and the bottom 790 px.

Pinterest warns that taller images "may get cut off in people's feeds". Put the message in the top part of the Pin.
On a 1080 × 1920 Pin, keep text 270 px from the top, 790 px from the bottom, 65 px from the left and 195 px from the right.
Through the API, a carousel of mixed shapes is refused. Crop all 2 to 5 images to 2:3 or all to 1:1.
The app takes WebP and TIFF, but the API takes JPEG and PNG. OmniSocials converts WebP for you.
Pinterest recommends 9:16 for full-screen video. In Tailwind's 2024 data, videos between 2:3 and 1:2 showed stronger engagement.
Every size on this page comes from Pinterest's Help Center, its ad specs, its creative best practices or its API reference, read on October 17, 2026. Where Pinterest publishes no number (the profile photo, the API's image file size), the page says so. Carousel ratios come from Pinterest's ad specs, and the video ratio finding is Tailwind's vendor data.
